Hailed for his superior artistry as the Spanish maestro of the guitar, Angel Romero is one of the most sought-after and recorded musicians of his generation. In 2000, Romero was knighted and given Spain's Grand Cross of Isabela la Catolica, the country's highest honor. Recent engagements include performances with the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic. The program concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov's Arabian Nights-inspired, colorful and exotic Scheherazade.

From the striking summer thunderstorms to the quiet sounds of falling snow, TJS's Concertmaster Sue-Jean Park and The Jackson Symphony guide listeners through Vivaldi''s Four Seasons, one of the most adored series of violin concertos ever written. The concert concludes with two contrasting Russian works: the world premiere of the intense Garden of Gethsemane by the young female composer Sanicheva and the joyous 9th Symphony by the 20th Century master, Dimitri Shostakovich.
