The Jackson Symphony Music Academy Camerata String Program

The Jackson Symphony is proud of their Camerata String Program. It is directed and conducted by Elise Dougan and is for beginning string players who are learning to read music and have been playing at least one year. This program is one of the only string groups between Memphis and Nashville to allow beginning players to play in an ensemble setting. They work on playing and performing together as well as on harmonies and melodies, and they are introduced to more intricate rhythms and group techniques. Camerata will perform two concerts with The Jackson Symphony Music Academy and will also play at The Jackson Symphony Holiday Pops Concert in December. They meet at Concordia Lutheran Church from 5:30-6:00pm on Thursday evenings.
