Madelyn Musser Named Director of Choirs
The Jackson Symphony is pleased to announce Madelyn Musser has been named Director of Choirs for The Jackson Symphony Music Academy.
Originally from northern Maine, Musser moved to Jackson in 2010 to attend Union University. She graduated from Union with a degree in Vocal Music Education in 2014 and has been teaching, conducting and performing in West Tennessee ever since. Madelyn assumed the role of Choral Director at North Side High School from 2015-2020 and added the position of Union University Community Music Center Youth Choir Director from 2016-2023. She has taught private voice lessons for ten years and served two years as the Assistant Director for Union’s Community Music Center. In addition to teaching, she also served on the Executive Board for the West Tennessee Vocal Music Educators Association for six years. Madelyn has performed various works as a guest artist with The Jackson Symphony, Union’s Music Department, and the Jackson Choral Society.
The Jackson Symphony Music Academy offers music education opportunities for students in 2nd - 12th grades, including a youth orchestra, children's choirs, and beginning and intermediate strings ensembles, as well as instrumental and vocal group instruction in seven Regional Music Centers across West Tennessee.
