The Jackson Symphony Music Academy offers top quality string and choral instruction for students in their own communities, free of charge. Centers are currently open in Dyer, Gibson, Hardin, Haywood, Henry, Madison, McNairy, Obion, and Weakley counties, with more opening in Fall 2026.

The JSMA Symphonic Band is for serious young musicians who play orchestral brass, woodwind or percussion instruments. By creating expanded opportunities, this focused ensemble will allow for more specialized instruction, a broader range of repertoire, and an enhanced ensemble experience tailored to these instruments.

Under the direction of The Jackson Symphony's Concertmaster, Tamás Kocsis, JSMA is making a significant investment in string education across West Tennessee. To better support each student's growth, a new sequence of string ensembles is being introduced that will allow students to progress naturally while receiving instruction that matches their level and goals.

The Jackson Symphony Music Academy offers choral training through the Children's Choir (grades 4-6) and Youth Choir (grades 7-12) programs. These ensembles work to develop vocal technique and performance skills in a professional, group setting.
